Meike Langer is a product designer and educator based in Berlin. Her studio follows a multidisciplinary approach with projects ranging from product over furniture to spatial design.

“Designing products means to actively shape the world (that surrounds us).”

Meike is well aware of the responsibility that comes with this and wishes to create designs with both a highly emotional and functional value. With a strong preference for clear lines and natural materials she is striving for simplicity and functionality as central values in her designs; visual lightness as well as mutability are also recurring themes.

Meike approaches every project even-handed, always with the aim to uncover new aspects and to incorporate those in her designs. She collaborates with national and international manufacturers and companies. Her work has been showcased at trade fairs and exhibitions in Paris, Milan, Cologne and Kortrijk.

Meike graduated from the University of Art and Design in Offenbach in 2010 with additional studies at the ECAL in Lausanne. Working experiences in Milan in the Studio of Patricia Urquiola and Studio Philippe Bestenheider shaped her sense for the emotional and sensual values of design.

Passing on knowledge to the next generation of designers is an ongoing passion of hers, too. Meike is currently Lecturer at the GIU Berlin for Product Design. In 2019 she was Visiting Professor (Material und Umwelt) at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. She taught as Senior Lecturer at the Berlin International University of Applied Science since 2018. She is regularly invited to lead workshops and truly enjoys the vivid exchange with colleagues in the academic field.
